The Redmi Note 8 series launch in nearing. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 series that includes the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro will launch on August 29 alongside Redmi's first-ever smart TV. Ahead of the launch, Redmi has confirmed several details about the Redmi Note 8 series. Now the company has officially confirmed the chipset that will power the Redmi Note 8 Pro. On Friday Redmi GM Lu Weibing confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be powered by MediaTek's latest Helio G90T processor.
Weibing took to the Chinese microblogging site -- weibo -- to announce this information about the Redmi Note 8 Pro. In the post Weibing also explains why the company chose Helio G90T for the Redmi Note 8 Pro and not a Snapdragon processor. He says that most youngsters are gaming enthusiasts and love playing games on their smartphones and Helio G90T is great at handling graphics-heavy games. In the same post Weibing also compared the Helio G90T with Snapdragon 710 and the MediaTek chipset turns out to be the winner in the competition.
Another report confirms that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with 64MP main camera on the back. The same report suggests that the Redmi Note 8 will pack a 48MP camera sensor. Both the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro are confirmed to come packed with four cameras on the back panel. On the front both the phones are expected to pack a single camera that is expected to sit inside a Dot drop notch. As rumoured previously the Redmi Note 8 Pro will not come with pop-up camera on the front.
Rumours and leaks have also revealed that the Redmi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come with in-display fingerprint sensor similar to the Redmi K20 series. It is expected that the Redmi Note 8 series with use 7th gen sensor. Some other rumours suggest that the Redmi Note 8 series will come packed with massive 5000mAh battery paired with 18W fast charging support.
For now, there is no information about the Remi Note 8 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro India launch. To recall Xiaomi India MD and Global VP Manu Jain previously confirmed that a 64MP camera phone and a Redmi phone with MediaTek Helio G90T will launch in India soon. Jain was clearly hinting at the Redmi Note 8 Pro. We expect Xiaomi to announce the India launch date of Redmi Note 8 series very soon.
